Family Playhouse

Ages 5–11 with an adult
Sundays | 3:00–4:00 PM
January 11 - March 22
(no class March 15 - 21, Spring Break)
Tuition: $125 per family

Come play, create, and connect in this joyful, story-rich theatre class designed for young artists and
their grown-ups!

Led by Community Stages founder and teaching artist Terry LeCompte, Family Playhouse is a perennial favorite in Ocala since 2019, inviting families to grow their imaginations side by side.

Each week, you'll explore folktales and fables from around the world through creative movement, music, and playful storytelling.

Whether you’re rolling on the floor as animals, acting out ancient tales, or building your family traditions through guided creative play, you’ll strengthen creative skills, bond through laughter, and make something beautiful—together.

The session culminates in a
simple in-person or recorded
“share-case” that celebrates your
family’s journey.

Homeschool PAL
(Performing Arts Local)

Ages 9–14

January 14 - March 24
(no class March 15 - 21, Spring Break)
Tuition: $160
Bundle & Save HS PAL/VAL for $295

PAL is back! This hands-on performing arts program helps homeschool learners develop expressive tools that go far beyond the stage—building confidence, communication, collaboration, and creative thinking.

Each session blends acting, improvisation, music, and movement into energetic, low-pressure explorations designed to meet learners where they are. Whether you’re returning or joining for the first time, you’ll stretch your voice, body, and imagination through a wide range of theatrical styles and stories.

This season, we’ll explore the
power of storytelling across
time, from classic tales to
contemporary voices.

Includes a flexible share-case at the end of the term—either in person or recorded and shared
with families.

Back by popular demand! VAL invites homeschool learners to explore the world of theatre through visual storytelling. Students dive into creative design projects inspired by costume, scenic,

Perfect on its own or as a complement to PAL, this class gives students a tangible way to bring stories to life through hands-on projects and guided artistic exploration.

Wildly (re)Told: Stories for the Ages

Ages: 10–18
Cast Size: 8–10 actors

All levels of experience are welcome! We’re seeking young performers with high energy, focus, imagination, a sense of adventure, playfulness, and teamwork.

In this “shoestring” touring production, everything we need travels in just three trunks — because our actors become the people, places, and things that bring each folktale to life. Together, we’ll explore stories from around the world and co-create each scene with our director, castmates, and audiences.

It’s storytelling at its most creative — a blend of movement, music, and pure imagination — and an experience you’ll treasure for years to come.

Performances: Early April throughout Ocala, including a featured appearance headlining the brand-new Literacy Festival at Tuscawilla Park.

Come dressed to move and ready to play! Prepare a one-minute comedic monologue (or one
will be provided).
