And That's My
(not-at-all) New Philosophy

My approach to voice training is rooted in deep respect for both the artistry and anatomy of singing. I studied Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at the Mannes School of Music in NYC and grounded my technique under the mentorship of Jill Edwards, an associate of renowned vocal coach Joan Lader.

Versatility Begins with Technique
Solid vocal technique is the foundation for every genre — whether you're telling a story through musical theatre, crooning a folky tune, navigating classical repertoire, or leaning into the grit of pop or country. It’s not about one “right” sound. It’s about discovering your sound and making it work across styles, roles, and stages.

What sets my teaching apart (besides jazz hands) is a performer’s instinct—shaped by over two decades of professional experience on stages and in studios—to embody the heart of a song and transport an audience through lyric, style, and healthy vocal technique. I love helping students discover that power for themselves.

You’ll learn how to make them laugh,
make them cry…
and have them humming out the door.

Influence & Methodology While not officially affiliated with Joan Lader’s studio, my teaching is strongly influenced by her renowned methodology—trusted by performers like Patti LuPone, Billy Porter, Sting, Kristin Chenoweth, and Madonna. Lader’s approach blends: *Anatomical Awareness: Understanding how the voice works physically, and how to use it efficiently, sustainably, and expressively *Individualized Approach: Honoring the unique needs, goals, and artistic path of each singer These principles are woven into every session I teach—supporting expressive freedom, creative exploration, and long-term vocal health.
