Step into stories that have stood the test of time—where imagination leads, and every camper finds their voice.
Young artists explore stories that have stood the test of time—from folklore and children’s literature to Broadway and film. Stories may include favorites like Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Peter Pan, Frozen, and Pinocchio. Campers will: —Build foundational theatre skills in a collaborative ensemble —Explore storytelling through voice, movement, and music —Discover how costumes, props, and scenery support character and story —See how stories change across time, culture, and medium —Grow in creativity, confidence, and expressive communication Each week offers a complete experience, while also connecting to a larger exploration of timeless storytelling. — Have questions? a show together.
Our Performance Camp (July) will present Moana Jr., a condensed, youth-friendly musical inspired by Polynesian mythology. The story follows Moana, a brave young wayfinder, as she sets out to save her island and discover who she is meant to be. In this camp, performers will: — Develop acting skills and character work — Build vocal technique and ensemble singing — Learn choreography and expressive movement — Practice rehearsal discipline and collaboration Full-day and half-day campers rehearse as a full cast and work together to bring the story to life—culminating in a live performance at the Dassance Fine Arts Center at the College of Central Florida. — I'm happy to answer any questions, email me at terry@communitystages.org
